Two Semi-Related Thingsies

Hey there. Happy Friday. Firstly PHISH has released their new single "Time Turns Elastic" on I-Tunes. The boys are in the studio recording some new material before they hit the road for their long awaited Summer Tour beginning May 31st. Check out their Tour Dates HERE. Damn I'm excited, too bad I probably won't be going. Anyway.....

Secondly, the Dave Matthews Band will release their upcoming album "Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King" which is dedicated to the band's saxophonist, the late Leroi Moore, who passed away this past august on June 2nd. BUT. You can go and stream the whole album from Pandora for free right now. So, go HERE and enjoy while you can, then go buy it on Tuesday. See these two things were sort of related. On a side note, I do realize that both of these pictures are extremely lame.

New Dave Matthews Band Single

The Dave Matthews Band has just made their new single, "Funny The Way It Is" available for download on their official site (this week only). This is the first single off of their upcoming Album, Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King, stated to be released on June 2nd. This will be the band's first album since the passing of saxophonist Leroi Moore and its title is named after and dedicated to him.
In my opinion, it's a pretty solid song. I think it's a good mix of a bit of the old DMB as well as a good indication of where they have been heading.

Regarding the new album Dave Matthews' himself has stated, "This is a good record. Even people who don't like the Dave Matthews Band are going to like this record- and if they don't, then they just don't like music" (from Rolling Stone). I guess we'll see if he is right when the new album comes out. Until then, enjoy the single and catch them on tour.

On a side note, due to the tragic death of saxophonist Leroi Moore last year, Jeff Coffin of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones fame has officially joined the DMB and will be touring with them this Summer.
