New Flaming Lips Album !!!!!

(from Rolling Stone's Spring/Summer Music Preview)

"After the Flaming Lips' Steven Drozd failed to sell his Oklahoma house last year, the band turned the empty home into a temporary recording studio. "We're capturing more immediate kinds of rock sounds there," says frontman Wayne Coyne. "It's different than the computer-generated beats of the last couple of records." The group is re-teaming with longtime producer Dave Fridmann for its 12th LP — and has already written enough material for a double album, which Coyne describes as "Plastic Ono-era John Lennon mixed with Bitches Brew-era Miles Davis."

I can't wait to hear this. Their last 3 albums have been fantastic (Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots ranks up among the very top of my favorite albums) and most of their older albums are pretty solid as well (although some of their early work is a little rough) Definitely looking forward to this record.

Fast AND Furious?

I'm just curious. Why start off with a movie called, "The Fast and The Furious" and then eight years later (after 2 sequels, ingeniously titled "2 Fast 2 Furious" and "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift") follow up with yet another movie simply called "Fast and Furious" (leaving out the "THEs". Is there really that big of a draw for another sequel or is Hollywood really that uncreative and starving for ideas? But hey, cars and driving fast is cool...right? (i think so at least, but come on)
With yet another sequel there are undoubtedly going to be some people trying some stupid things such as.......

The King of Pop Returns

Today Michael Jackson has announced that he will return to the stage in July for 10 shows at the O2 Arena in London. I don't care how bizarre, weird, or strange he has gotten over the years. In my mind, Michael Jackson can do no wrong. I am beyond excited about this news and I wish him the best of luck.

Untill then, here's some classic MJ for ya. (sorry about the advertisements on mostof these)

Travis Pastrana Monster Truck Backflip

Who the hell tries to backflip a Monster Truck? Hahaha this was outrageous.

Late Night With Jimmy Fallon

Well, last night marked the first episode of "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon". It was sort of weird not seeing Conan (besides the opening skit) but the show was overall...eh, alright. I'm more of a Jay Leno fan. But anyway It was pretty cool that Robert DeNiro was the first guest but I could have definitely done without Justin Timberlake being there. I also don't know how i feel about the "lick it for 10" game in which audience members are brought onset and convinced to lick various objects for 10 bucks. Kind of hilarious actually. Despite that, some highlights for me were certainly the fact that The Roots are the house band. That in of itself made me want to watch the show. Secondly, was the musical guest which was Van Morrison. Pretty cool as well. I don't really know if I can form an opinion after just one show so I'll have to see how Jimmy progresses. He looked pretty nervous (but doesn't he always?) but hopefully after a couple weeks he get used to it. I guess we'll just have to see.

The first episode is already on NBC.com so go HERE to check it out for yourselves.

Asher Roth Interview and 20 Minuet Freestyle

Good ole' Asher Roth. He's been getting more and more popular ever since his "I Love College" song came out. I guess it's a pretty fun song but it is definitely going to get completely played out. Say what you will, I must admit I think he does have skill. We'll see where he goes from here. If you have the time checkout this interview with DJ Swerve in London.

More importantly, Check out this Freestyle from the Tim Westwood show in London. He goes off for almost 20 minuets straight on a bunch of different beats. It's pretty damn impressive. LISTEN

Oh yeah and go download his free mixtape...that is if you'd like to.

Kanye West Storytellers

This was on a few days ago. Kanye has been up to his antics as usual but some of these songs are pretty awesome and the stage setup/lights are sick. Check em' out.
