YO WHATUP WORLD IT'S DJ kiTTiE PhA$E!!!!!!!!!!
(just kidding)

So today I was playing DJ.

So what, I don't have the equipment (because I don't have any money) but I can always pretend....right?

Anyway, check out my mix. You'll notice the first Crookers track from yesterday's post (I really dug it).

Go and dance around if you'd like
Or cry if you think it's terrible.

Jamie XX Mix for Colette

This is all over the blogs already but I though it was a pretty nice mix and since I've been really into dubstep and electro/dance/whatevertheykeepfuckingmakingupwordstocallthis music more and more lately I figured I'd put it up.

The XX's beatmaker, Jamie XX put this electrowoobly, dubstep, all around pretty dirty mix together for some fancy schmancy French boutique store, Colette. I mean, you could get these sweet shorts for only 365.00 euro....but that's besides the point.

The mix (in my opinion) is really good. If you aren't really into British rapper The Streets, just skip that part beginning part, put on a pair of headphones, and dance around (and make sure you don't trip over the wires). Or you could just cool out and listen to it with some speakers.

To Each His Own.

Pretty Lights' first EP in the trilogy to be released in 2010, "Making Up A Changing Mind", is out NOW. Go download it free (along with the rest of his albums) right HERE

(From his e-mail list)

Making Up A Changing Mind is a collection of six tracks, produced in January and February of 2010. Stylistically I fuse hip-hop production with elements of electro & dubstep, and combine that with the organic timbres and raw feeling of old school soul & funk, to, hopefully channel a number of feelings that pertain to the concept of the EP... In more than one way, this EP is a reflection of the massive changes I'm going through in my life and recent decisions I've had to make regarding my relationships, my career, and my music. From the lyrics of the vocal samples, to the fusion of production styles, even to the model and timeframe in which this EP is being released... this album speaks to the importance of adapting in a changing and surprising world. All will change with time... the future none can see. In the reconciliation of seemingly opposing options (making up a changing mind) we can hope to find new perspectives and better ways to move forward. ~Derek Vincent Smith

Living Inside The Speaker

This is a documentary about the rise of Dubstep music in the underground of Bristol, England. Dubstep is a sort of sub-genre of electronic music that came out of the UK garage scene. The music focuses on drum and bass, off time syncopated rhythms, and has a more dark feel to it than other techno or electronica music. If you want to learn some more about it check out the ole Wiki page on Dubstep.

Those crazy Brits.
