Phish Festival 8

Starting today, October 30th, through November 1st is Phish's Festival 8 !!!!!

I'm personally excited to see which full album cover they will be performing on Halloween night. As of right now, on the Halloween Set page of the festival, the only albums left "alive" are: Jimi Hendri's Electric Ladyland, Genesis' The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, Prince's Purple Rain, King Crimson's Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Rolling Stones Exile on Main St, Radiohead Kid A, Micheal Jackson's Thriller, David Bowie's Hunky Dory, and MGMT's Oracular Spectacular.

I don't know if everybody is all MJ'ed out but my money is on Thriller.

Anyway, the Phish Coventry Blog posted the boys' soundcheck earlier today. I haven't listened to it yet but I think it's actually a soundboard recording which is pretty awesome. Here's the unofficial setlist:

Festival 8 Soundcheck Jam
Undermind>
Devil with a Blue Dress>
Gloria
Starship Trooper
Gone
Fuck Your Face Tease
MGMT Kids Tease
Liquid Time

Live Bonnaroo Updates

I just found this on Jambase. They have setup a Bonnaroo page that will be updated in real-time via Twitter and Twit-pics. So while we are all stuck here we can stay up to date with all the B-Roo action! Pretty cool.

Again, HERE is the link.

And The Band Of The Week is....

Wuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu !!!!!!!!! That's right, this week's band that you may not have heard of is "The Big Wu"

The musical influences that helped create the Big Wu were loud, and large, and heartfelt. And through the years, this Minnesota troupe has stepped into the role of creating the type of music that wants to course through your veins. Writing in truly American styles, the Big Wu slides, bends, rumbles, and chicken-picks with on the top intensity and good-time fervor.

This is inclusive rock-n-roll, people. So boys bring your girls, parents bring your kids, therapists bring your patients. Let the Big Wu loosen the straps of your daily burden with real vibrations.

These guys have been touring less and less over the years but every year they continue to put on their festival "The Big Wu Family Reunion" (currently in its tenth year). Also their 1999 album "Tracking Buffalo Through the Bathtub" is one of my all time favorites.

Check out some of their tunes:

Kangaroo - The Big Wu

Midnight Rudy - The Big Wu
