I thought I might start doing this every week or so. That is, mentioning a band or artist that might still be under the radar, or has sort of fallen off the scene and I think is worth mentioning for some reason. Anymore I'm on music overload. There's just so much music out there it's hard to keep up with it all, BUT I will do my best to provide something or someone worth listening to. So, without further ado, I give you.......DRUMS AND TUBA
"Somewhere in the burgeoning depths of a sea full of processed and pre-packaged rock bands lie the three men of Drums & Tuba, who blend eclectic instrumentation and electronic gadgetry with a free-wheeling, improvisational bent, resulting in a sound that’s hard to classify, and even harder to ignore."
These guys used to kind of be on the Jamband scene back around 2001-05. They used to be all instrumentals (Guitar, Drums and Tuba (get it?!)) but on their last album, Battles Ole they added vocals. Anyways, check out some their stuff, kinda weird but cool at the same time.

I had the pleasure of catching the Rubbelbucket Orchestra last weekend at the Draught Horse/Cherry Pit just off of Temple's campus in North Philadelphia. This Massachusetts based band's peaceful lyrics and funky, danceable grooves really impressed me and they honestly had one of the most energetic performances I have seen in quite some time. At one point during the show, the band's horn section jumped off stage and began marching, jumping on things, and dancing throughout the bar. It was extremely entertaining and very impressive. Definitely check them out if you get a chance. You can listen to/get a copy of their album HERE

This is the music video for "Amber Gris", the first single off of Medeski Martin & Wood's newest album , Radiolarians II which was released on April 14th. This is the second installment of the Radiolarians series. The video is pretty cool, it was actually directed and edited by Billy Martin himself. It has an sort of artsy feel to it and the song grooves pretty nicely. Check it out here!

I've been constantly on Datpiff.com since I found out about it around a year ago. With new mixtapes constantly coming out everyday it's hard to really find out what's good. There's definitely a lot of crap on there but last week there were two tapes in particular that came out, made a huge buzz, and are pretty great. Firstly, Kid Kudi's "Dat Kid From Cleveland", which i thought was fantastic and secondly, Wiz Khalifa's "Flight School", which got a huge amount of hype and is pretty good as well. Check em' both out.

New Eminem Song 3AM
I just came across the new Eminem song 3AM off his upcoming album Relapse . It finally seems like the old Em is coming back. At first I though he still kind of had one of those weird voices going on again, but then I realized, this might be his "real" voice. The flow is still pretty different but this is a similar type of sound he had way back in the day, I mean way back when he recorded Infinite (before the Slim Shady LP) I could be completely wrong but check out the comparison.
