New Albums You Need To Hear
Hey, it's The Black Keys, they are always good. The duo takes their signature distorted, muddy, shitkickin', blues rock for a run on this one folks. Pretty standard sounding for them, which in my opinion isn't exactly a bad thing. 15 tracks of all around greatness. It's one of those ALBUMS that you can put on and listen all the way through. Really good stuff here.
(remember BlakRoc?)
The Tallest Man on Earth: The Wild Hunt
Young Bob (Dylan that is) aka "The Tallest Man on Earth" is back with his second album entitled "The Wild Hunt". As I've said before, I don't care if he sounds like Bob Dylan, I like Bob Dylan, and I like him. Poetic, Folky, Real.
(Tallest Man Videos)
Eminem. People say he's the best rapper (although people say Lil Wayne is too) for a reason...because he is. I'm not going to get into a debate or anything, everybody's got an opinion. My opinion is that there are different types rap and different styles of rappers. I'll leave it at that. His "Recovery" album doesn't drop until June 22nd but this mixtape came out yesterday. It's got some pretty cool blends and mixes on it but the quality isn't all that great. Anyway, just wanted to bring this up on everyone's radar, JUNE 22nd (prolly will leak earlier though...)
(other Em related things)
Holy Fuck: Latin
I FUCKIN' (haha) love these guys. As I've said before, I enjoy the crazy-electro-punk-jam-tronic noise that they make. This album continues the tradition laid down in their other 2 albums (which are great) but has a tighter, structured feel to it. I'm not sure if it has as much initial excitement and energy as it's predecessors, but it still grooves, and gets pretty wild once you get into the middle and end of the album.
All right, that's enough for now.
Oh and I must thank the music snobs over at Pitchfork for being so on top of things. I wouldn't have even known most of these albums dropped if it wasn't for them.
Okay, go listen to music .
Vinnie Paz: Before The Assassin
The Pazmanian Devil drops a little mixtape before his solo album comes out in June.

Go Get it!!!!
Gorilla Zoe: 28 Mixtapes in 28 Days
Well folks, February is almost over and i can not let the month end without mentioning this. Since the beginning of the month, hip hop artist Gorilla Zoe has been releasing a new mix-tape EVERY SINGLE DAY. That's right, 28 Mixtapes in 28 Days.
Each tape has at least 10 songs on them (or more). I'm not sure but there are possibly a few repeats on the tapes from days before but still, that's pretty damn impressive. Even if you don't like Zoe (he's not too bad), you have got to give him credit for this one. Also some of the tapes have some pretty creative and funny names like: Zoebama for President, I'm Zoe Good, You Don't Mess with the ZOE-han, and The Legend Of Zoe-Ro.
Check em out HERE
Keep doin' your thing Zoe.
HBO: How To Make It In America
I wanted to put this up last week but I forgot to. The new series on HBO "How To Make It In America" just aired on the 14th but the pilot episode has been online for about a week. I just watched it and it looks like it has some potential.
Here's a little abstract about the show:
Watch it HERE or HERE (or Below)HBO's new series "How to Make It in America" comes from the same producing team as "Entourage" -- but the thing you should know about it before anything else is that, aside from exploring the bond between guys and airing on HBO, it's not a whole lot like "Entourage."
Whereas Vinny Chase and his boys made it to the top and never really fell that far from it, "How to Make It" is about what it's like to be on the bottom of the heap and looking for a way up. "It's a street-level show," is how creator Ian Edelman puts it. "It's the beginning of a journey."
The show stars Bryan Greenberg ("October Road") and Victor Rasuk ("Stop-Loss," "Raising Victor Vargas") as Ben and Cam, long-time friends and would-be fashion moguls who have big ideas but less ability to execute them. The show follows their struggles to start a denim line -- how they luck into the fabric is part of the story in Sunday's (Feb. 14) premiere -- and make their names in the business. Luis Guzman, Lake Bell, Eddie Kaye Thomas and Scott "Kid Cudi" Mescudi also star.

B.o.B - "May 25th"
I really haven't been keeping up with new hip hop and mixtapes as of late but by chance I gave some of B.o.B's new mixtape a listen.
I gotta say, SHIT'S NICE!!!
Fire starting off with the Shook Ones PT II beat and the rest is just really solid, different type of hip hop. Now I definitely understand the hype behind this guy.

Lil Wayne "No Ceilings" Mixtape Drops on Halloween
Okay, I'll begin the countdown tonight.
Lil Wayne drops the "No Ceilings" mixtape this Saturday on HALLOWEEN. (HALLOWEEZZY BAYYBAAAH).
A few tracks have already been leaked(i don't know why people can't just wait for the whole thing to drop) and so far they sound quite promising. None of that rap/punk rock/ nonsense. No autotune. Straight Weezy fire. Anyway, I'm excited. Check out the leaked songs after the jump!
One comment. Anybody ever take notice to how many songs Wayne says something regarding "shit" or "toilet" or something similar? It's almost every song. Okay that's all.
Get em!!!!

Gucci Mane Cold War 10.17
Tonight, October 17th,(10/17) at 10:17 Gucci Mane done gone and released 3 new mixtapes.
That's right THREE.
This 3 mixtape series is called "The Cold War" and each tape, put together by a different DJ "represents" a different country. We've got DJ Drama with Guccimerica, DJ Holiday with Brrrussia, and DJ Scream with Great Brrritain.
Oh yeah and why all the 10/17 stuff? 1017 was the name of the apartment building where Gucci grew up as well as the name of his new label.
I'm not even really a Guc fan but this is insane. Dude be floodin' the streets. Check em out after the jump aaaaaaawwwwwfffffffffffffff.
Git em.

Tom Green Raps
Somebody also put together a mixtape of a bunch of his songs. Pretty decent, he's got pretty funny lines and there are also a few songs from his show you might remember.
Lectro Black...?

What happens when you combine Felix Da Housecat and Diddy ? The answer is a little dance mixtape project by the name of "Lectro Black - Last Train to Paris".
I know very little about Felix Da Housecat, although I think I do remember THIS song. Diddy on the other hand...don't get me started. Good producer? Sure. Knew B.I.G? No doubt. Worst rapper ever? Ehhh, possibly.
Combine Felix Da Housecat's electroclash beats and Diddy's wack crooning and yelling and you're sure have the ladies shakin' their asses on the dance floor for sure. (maybe).
There are some solid parts but in my opinion this is pretty much crap. Just have a listen and decide for yourself.
Terry Urban's Santigold "Southerngold" Mixtape
There is/was a great big hoopla (yes a hoopla) about this mixtape created by Terry Urban that mixs Santigold samples with various southern rap vocals from artists such as Young Jeezy, Slim Thug, Rick Ross, Pitbull and others. I'm not going to get into the whole thing but you can read about it HERE or even HERE. It's pretty cool, go download it HERE while you still can.
Fix Your Face !!! (DJ AM and Travis Barker)
The combination of DJ AM and Travis Barker is absolutely mind blowing. I knew of their project since the fatal plane crash that left both Travis and AM critically injured and four others dead back in late September, but for some reason I never checked out any of their music until now. They play a mashup of covers ranging from Rush, MGMT, Guns N' Roses,Bell Biv DeVoe's 'Poison', Daft Punk, Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Jay-Z, The Who, and countless others. And they do a damn good job at it. They have released two free mixtapes (which can be downloaded from their site) and they are pretty crazy. Actually, really crazy, as in crazy good. Definitely check them both out, they are absolutely nuts, really, I MEAN IT. Go download them right now and prepare to get wild.

New Cool Kids Track
The rap duo The Cool Kids are currently working on a new mixtape with Don Cannon titled "Gone Fishin'". Apparently it's a sort of prequel to their upcoming album "When Fish Ride Bicycles" that is supposed to be out I believe by the end of the year (December maybe?). Meanwhile here are two newly released tracks off of "Gone Fishin'". Both are pretty nice. Get em' !

Two Solid New Mixtapes
I've been constantly on Datpiff.com since I found out about it around a year ago. With new mixtapes constantly coming out everyday it's hard to really find out what's good. There's definitely a lot of crap on there but last week there were two tapes in particular that came out, made a huge buzz, and are pretty great. Firstly, Kid Kudi's "Dat Kid From Cleveland", which i thought was fantastic and secondly, Wiz Khalifa's "Flight School", which got a huge amount of hype and is pretty good as well. Check em' both out.
