The Black Keys: Brothers

Hey, it's The Black Keys, they are always good. The duo takes their signature distorted, muddy, shitkickin', blues rock for a run on this one folks. Pretty standard sounding for them, which in my opinion isn't exactly a bad thing. 15 tracks of all around greatness. It's one of those ALBUMS that you can put on and listen all the way through. Really good stuff here.

The Tallest Man on Earth: The Wild Hunt


Young Bob (Dylan that is) aka "The Tallest Man on Earth" is back with his second album entitled "The Wild Hunt". As I've said before, I don't care if he sounds like Bob Dylan, I like Bob Dylan, and I like him. Poetic, Folky, Real.

Eminem. People say he's the best rapper (although people say Lil Wayne is too) for a reason...because he is. I'm not going to get into a debate or anything, everybody's got an opinion. My opinion is that there are different types rap and different styles of rappers. I'll leave it at that. His "Recovery" album doesn't drop until June 22nd but this mixtape came out yesterday. It's got some pretty cool blends and mixes on it but the quality isn't all that great. Anyway, just wanted to bring this up on everyone's radar, JUNE 22nd (prolly will leak earlier though...)

Holy Fuck: Latin

I FUCKIN' (haha) love these guys. As I've said before, I enjoy the crazy-electro-punk-jam-tronic noise that they make. This album continues the tradition laid down in their other 2 albums (which are great) but has a tighter, structured feel to it. I'm not sure if it has as much initial excitement and energy as it's predecessors, but it still grooves, and gets pretty wild once you get into the middle and end of the album.


All right, that's enough for now.

Oh and I must thank the music snobs over at Pitchfork for being so on top of things. I wouldn't have even known most of these albums dropped if it wasn't for them.

Travis Barker "Forever" Remix

This is already all over the internet, but it just got posted today! (So I feel special because I'm on top of my game today). I' don't think I really ever told anyone, but I'm a huge fan of the Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Eminem song "Forever". It's always on the radio (I don't even voluntarily listen (okay very rarely listen) to the radio anymore but I hear this all the time) but I still haven't really gotten sick of it yet. I might be getting there though, anyway that's besides the point. It's a good song, everyone seriously delivers and it's just a colossal song. That's all besides the point too.

What was the point of this? Oh right, this. Today, a Travis Barker remix of the song got put out. Meh, it's pretty good. No disrespect to TRV$, he's still a killer drummer but he's got better stuff. I really dug his stuff with the late (it's weird saying that) DJ AM.

The Cypher: Mos Def, Black Thought, Eminem

This made me dizzy, my head hurt, and I loved every second of it. It's absolutely fantastic. Seriously, everybody killed it. Just listen and watch.

Eminem Freestyle on Tim Westwood Show

Shady with a sick freestyle. I don't even care if any of THIS was pre-written, Eminem is a monster.

Eminem and Bruno at the MTV Movie Awards

If you haven't yet heard of the "incident" which involved Eminem and Bruno (Sacha Baron Cohen's gay Austrian model character) last night at the MTV Movie Awards, check out the video HERE



Apparently the incident was actually rehearsed, and if so it was a clever ploy on MTV's part. It got the show a good amount of press and that incident alone probably got the show some extra viewers as well. It'll also probably increase the replay value of the show as well. If it was staged, Em was a good sport about the whole thing and pulled off being pissed pretty well (although I don't think it was that hard to do so). If it wasn't staged, it actually makes it even more hilarious.

New Eminem Song 3AM

I just came across the new Eminem song 3AM off his upcoming album Relapse . It finally seems like the old Em is coming back. At first I though he still kind of had one of those weird voices going on again, but then I realized, this might be his "real" voice. The flow is still pretty different but this is a similar type of sound he had way back in the day, I mean way back when he recorded Infinite (before the Slim Shady LP) I could be completely wrong but check out the comparison.
